I've actually had this problem for a while now. Every time I try to launch 1.8+(modified or unmodified), the launcher "stops working". Does anyone have a fix towards this problem?
That worked...kind of...
It launched, but it took a full 5 minutes for the game, itself, to launch. Do you know of any 3rd party launchers that uses the old launcher?

It should be faster after the first time. It had to redownload the old launcher and convert your profiles back to the old format
