My Minecraft enters a weird hiccup after a while of exploring new areas: a second of game running, a second of game frozen, repeating - sometimes for 10 seconds or so, sometimes indefinitely. This only happens after at least several minutes of going. Also, "exit to main menu", followed by resuming (without even quitting to desktop) fixes the issue for a while. Other than that the game runs very smoothly, no performance issues unless I set my chunk draw limit really high - normally keeping it at 22 and the game doesn't misbehave when I'm in an "already explored" area.
I'd understand this happening occasionally, or for a short time, but once I left the game for 5 minutes, character not moving, and the game didn't cease the 'hiccup'. Moreover, this only happens after a while - I can ride through plains and hills on a horse for 5 minutes straight with no slowdown at all, then suddenly the game nearly freezes, and I'm not even far out in the "wild", just nudging an unexplored area. Also, the save-load combo takes maybe 15 seconds total and the issue is gone - meanwhile letting the game run for much longer than that doesn't help...
I have 16GB RAM, i5 quad core, Windows 7 pro 64bit. Minecraft 1.11 pure vanilla, single player, started from launcher, recent install with a new world (returning to playing after a long break). The gfx card is rather weak, but it has absolutely no problem drawing complex world at 32 chunks draw range at 50FPS, and the game runs perfectly smoothly as long as all distant land is already generated.
