Today, I finally decided to pick up minecraft, with a few mods meant for that specific version, and the newest forge for it (11.2), I played, problem is, Game is entirely functional, but mods are unable to load. They just don't. The game works fine, spot on, but My mods aren't there, I've gotten desperate to the point of joining this forum. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to remedy the problem? Because I'd really like to use some of these, and they've worked in past versions, so why not this?
Also, please do not comment saying you also have this problem, without explaining the answer. I've seen stuff like that on other forums, and frankly it's tiring. But if you do help, many thanks indeed
Majesty is completely correct. Those steps should be able to troubleshoot your issue. Just to add onto that though:
The mods folder should not have your mods just dumped straight into it. There needs to be another folder inside of it named by your version of Minecraft. For example, if you're using 1.11.2, you should put the mods in .minecraft/mods/1.11.2/ and not just in .minecraft/mods/.
You don't have to go ahead out of your way and run a world with Forge, but it is definitelycompulsory to go and run Forge first by itself before putting any mods in the mods folder.
And lastly, to prevent problems like this in future, always make sure to follow the instructions for what you download. All mods usually have instructions shown somewhere on their pages, and their steps are quite easy to walk through.
I'm positive I'm using the correct version of these mods. They are all supposed to be compatible with the newest forge release and minecraft version. I have no idea what's happening

Curse PremiumRun the basics:
1. Is the Profile your using set to use Forge?
2. Are the mod versions the same as MC/Forge?
3. Are the mods in the mods folder?
4. Did you create a world with just Forge first before adding mods?

Alright, I'm curious, can you provide a picture of your .minecraft/versions/ folder and your .minecraft/mods/ folder?
