Ive just completed building a new pc so started on the long slog of reinstalling everything. When I attempted to install minecraft it appeared as if it had installed correctly but as soon as I attempt tp run the game I get the following error:
Unable to save download. 1.11.json
Name: 1.11.json
URL: https://launchermeta.mojang.com/mc/assets/1.11/ea7f56173691250e9805db5e3dda2d65b951ede3/1.11.json
Error details: Attempting to move successful download to C:/Users\avwri\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\assets\indexes/1.11.json
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
Filename on disk: 391e-db1a-8504-3db6
Path: C:\Users\avwri\AppData\Local\Temp\391e-db1a-8504-3db6
Exists: file
Can anyone enlighten me as to what has happened and how to correct it please?
the file mentioned above (beginning 391e_ does exist but I have no idea why it would be using a file. Is it just a matter of deleting it ? (is it safe to do so?)
Having just built the pc I can see there is already some clean up to do. As I don't use the product I can only assume that it was part of a bundle that came with either the motherboard or graphic card.. Time to check see what else needs clearing out. again thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
