Hello everyone
I just reinstalled Minecraft after building my new rig and everything works great until I enable a 512 texture pack.
The FPS drops to about 11 Avg. Anything below the 512 packs and it works fine but for some reason the 512 just kills performance.
Any tip, Ideas or suggestions are welcome. Thanks ahead of time.

You are jumping from 16x16 textures of blocks to 512x512, thats 32 times bigger, you cannot expect good performance out of it

I have ran 512 packs plenty of times before and with great results. My last card was a 980 Ti and it worked flawlessly.
Anyone have any ideas?

Curse PremiumDidn't by chance install 32 bit Java instead of 64 bit did you?
No, had 32 and 64 installed. I think I figured it out though....
It looks as if it was just that texture pack that was causing an issue....
I downloaded a 1024x1024 pack and ran it with MrMeepz shaders with 2X on render and shadows and 4X AA and it ran BEAUTIFULLY!
