When I play Minecraft 1.11 on a amplified world I can only play for a few minutes before Minecraft goes from 100 fps to like 2 and back again and Minecraft goes really unplayable. My texture pack is PureBDcraft 128x128. I have not edited any world files or Minecraft files (apart from inserting textures and worlds)
You are combining the load of a 128x128 texture pack in the graphics card, with the load of a amplified world in the cpu. That doesnt end well after a while
