I've tried using both the new and old launchers, and I set the java executable path to JRE 7 which I had installed just before installing 1.5.2 at all. Both launchers give me the same error, the game fails to even start.

Here is the latest crash log, they're all identical.

I'm running on Windows 10 Home 64-bit. The newer versions of Minecraft run just fine. I feel like this is just some stupid small detail that I'm forgetting. It's been a while since I installed an older version.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Like I said, it's a clean install. I'll clear the version folder and try again, though.

EDIT: Deleted everything in my versions folder and re-downloaded the jar, still getting the same error.

You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory, and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck!

That seems to have worked. Like I said before, some stupid little detail.
