Hi, I'm new to this website so I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong or posted this in the wrong section.. I recently bought a laptop for gaming and being a kid at heart I installed minecraft along with some other games. After playing it for a little while, I wanted to use shaders so I downloaded Chocapic High Shaders. It was so laggy that I decided to allocate more RAM. After a long process of literally going into the Java programming and changing it manually 8GB were allocated, plenty of room for the shaders to go nuts. The only problem is it uses about 5% of the 8GB and lags down to 50fps on my 120Hz laptop screen. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the game supposed to use more RAM to run games smoother?
I just need to know what y'all think the issue is; the shaders, the game, the computer.. Or if there's anything I can do to make the game smoother?
I don't believe it's the computer because every other game I play is fine, 120 frames almost all the time, and they're much more graphically taxing.
I saw some other people put their computer specs so I guess I should too.. i7 6700hq, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM, plenty of storage.
