Ever since my launcher tried to update to the new launcher, it displays an error message saying it was unable to install minecraft after installing the native launcher. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MInecraft but nothing fixes the issue. I am unsure what version of Java I have, and I have Windows 7. Is there any way way I can solve this issue?

It may be Firewall that is blocking the download. Disable them then run the launcher.
No other firewall(that was not uninstalled) present in the hjt log
