okay so I'm trying to get minecraft shaders to work on my potato computer for the hell of it ,and everytime I activate a shader the screen becomes black, but the GUI is still showing
-yes I have the right version of optifine
-yes I have the right shaderpack version
-im using minecraft 1.11
-using windows Vista so I bet that's it
-PC specs:
-amd athlon x2 (64) dual core 2.4 ghz
-graphics :integrated GeForce 9100
i believe it may have something to do with my OpenGL being out of date (version 2.1.2)

Likely outdated OpenGL
Your specs seem pretty low to run any shader at a playable framerate anyway. I advise you to save up and build a desktop pc, preferably with the assistance/supervision of a parent/friend/anyone highly experienced with electronics and close to you.
When building my first gaming pc, I was in luck since my dad happens to be very skilled with electronics, heck, he even has (or had) a solder at home.
I'm building one currently but I'm waiting for the last part to arrive so meanwhile I was trying to get it to work on my potato ,windows vista doesn't support Higher version of OpenGL so I doubt there's I way I can get them to run I can run at about 20fps or 50-60 if I make the window small

There was a computer dating back to Adam and Eve. An apple, and a very bad one at that, it only took 1 byte to crash everything.
