I've looked around for an answer but the only thing I found was minecraft making no sound at all. That's not my problem. Animals, mob gruts, and villagers are deafening; block break sounds normal; dirt without anything on it are the only blocks with dig sound; doors opening only make sound half the time; pressure plates very rarely sound and then usually barely hearable with everything including sound system maxed; lava only sometimes makes hearable sound with everything max and standing right next, facing to it. Pretty much everything else is missing. footsteps, sword swing, chest, bats, the spook near open spaces underground, splashing, fire burning...everything. I've tried restarting, f3+S or T, completely delete minecraft and reinstall, screwing with audio settings in and outside of game. Nothing. Note: I'm using XP, haven't got around to buying 10 yet. Any help on what the heck's wrong, not to mention fixing it, would be greatly appreciated.
Does it only happen in older versions of the game?, also, not expect things to work in Windows XP now that is EOL, or your setup if its too old to work with 10
I first noticed the problem when i was trying 1.11.2, but the same exact problem happens with 1.9 and 1.7.2 both of which i've played before perfectly. Also my system would have no problem running win 10. I was waiting to see if it was actually staple, plus there's the needing 100-ish dollar free.
You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory, and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck!
[/pre]
Its not that is stable or not, its that it doesnt receive updates, so you are open to a lot of attacks(the next day to being EOL there were 5 0 days discovered, guess how many there are at this time).
And your components might not support Windows 10(lack of drivers due to also being eol)
