Hello, I have recently experienced multiple issues lately with Minecraft which may or may not be related. Firstly, I attempted to play a mod pack I have played for about a year now, TestPackPleaseIgnore which I have modified from the official release, through the FTB launcher.
These are warning flags of my own stupidity, I know, but everything was working just fine for a year or so until a few days ago when my client dropped to an unplayable frame rate, even in the title screen, for no apparent reason. I'd like to think its not a hardware issue because any other game, including newer versions of mine craft run just fine.
Therefore I attempted to play vanilla 1.6.4 with the official minecraft launcher and there is absolutely no audio for minecraft versions older than 1.7.10. I don't know if this is in any way related, but it is fairly coincidental that I'm facing issues with versions around 1.6.4.
I attempted to fix the sound issue by installing assets and resource fixes, but that hasn't seem to have worked. Furthermore, it appears Minecraft versions older than 1.7.10 are automatically labelled as "legacy" in the standard minecraft assets.
I have also attempted to fix my modded client with Java arguments and a mod called the legacy java fix, neither have worked. Another thing I noted was that the FTB launcher had an update recently and it does not appear I am actually changing my Java versions when I click the dropdown, but I'm pretty sure that's an issue I'll have to pursue with FTB.
Any help would be appreciated, as I feel I've already tried the majority of the obvious solutions (computer restart, re downloads, volume mixer) and I apologize if my first post is not up to par.
