Okay, so this is my first question/post/tread on the minecraft forums because I'm such a noob with a computer. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has any solutions to why minecraft (probably the launcher) won't open? I've been searching online for some time now and can't seem to find anything helpful. Minecraft is shown on my computer task bar but it just won't open. I even went to the extremes and uninstalled minecraft, just to download it again. Still, when I click on minecraft it again is shown in the taskbar but won't open. Does anyone know how to fix this problem possibly?
If you still have this problem right now i know how to fix it... This happend to me 2 day so basically you have to connect a HDMI cord to your laptop or Tower and connect it to a TV or another monitor then close minecraft then go to your display settings and make your regular monitor or laptop screen your main display... Then you open minecraft again and it should pop up on your second display and drag it to your main screen then click the maximize button in the top right corner but make sure you click play game before you do that or else it won't do anything, you should be on the screen where it says Mojang when you click maximize don't worry if it says not responding its normal it will load after a minute if not then open Minecraft again... then once you do that, click F11 and it should put it to full screen if not click F11 again... Then unplug the HDMI cord and you should be good HOPE THIS HELPS it worked for me!!

Curse Premiumtry updating java? not having java installed is the only thing I can think of that would make it just not open at all.
I tried that (even uninstalled Java) and it's still having the same problem.
Download the alternate launcher from minecraft.net/download, its the second one on show all downloads
