I haven't played in quite a long time, and I went to login to download the game again, and it asks me for a username AND email. I never had to input an email address to login to my old minecraft account, and I definitely don't remember which email address I used. I can't seem to do anything without the email address, even though I got my old username and password. Nothing posted anywhere on Mojang's website works.
I go through the process of merging the account to a mojang account and it's telling me the account is already merged. Regardless, I don't see any system in place on their website or any other method that can do anything to resolve this if I forgot the email address I used.
I need a way to access my account even if I forgot the email address I used.
I was told that name doesn't exist when someone tried to add it to a Whitelist. I'm 99.9999999% sure that was my old username. I got all that stuff written down on a personal notepad.
I've even double and noticed I had the same username, spelling and all written the same way in 2 different places.
I don't see any logical way to explain why my old username suddenly doesn't exist anymore? Would anyone like to speculate how that's even possible?
I don't have any possible methods of obtaining the transaction ID from an account from 2010-11. Whatever email address they would have sent that transaction ID to has been lost as well.
The last link is how to recover it, if its from 2010-2011 then it probably was DIBS, thus you have to email Mojang and say so so they provide further instructions

I sent an email to Mojang, and I'll post an update if this goes well.
It's possible I might have used a similar username and password on a website that got compromised, which is the likely how my minecraft account got compromised. This was me being sloppy. My password was pretty complex, alphanumeric, caps + symbols, and I don't believe it could have been brute-forced, or anything like that. If someone brute forced it, then they earned it. And I would probably let them keep it.

So it's clear someone stole my account.

Mojang has protection for bruteforcing, so was probably the first one
