So I made this forum account just for this issue because I cant find help else-where.

Since the launcher update where they changed the looks, whenever I try to play on servers i get the:

(internal exception java.lang.nullpointerexception)

But I can play single player no problem.

Here is everything I have tried thus far:

1. restart my computer

2. un-install / re-install MC client

3. updated java

ANY SUGGESTIONS? thanks :/

Is there a way to get in contact with minecraft themselves for a solution?

Click your name in the launcher and click Log out, then log back in

We just had the same problem, took hours of time, tried all tricks people said. Nothing worked. I decided to clean everthing in PC and reinstall. Finally get it fixed. My boy was so happy! !!!

Here is what we did.

1. Uninstall minecraft

2. Move every files in the minecraft folder to a new folder; then delete the minecraft folder.

3. Uninstall java

4. Recover Windows 8 to an early time, like Dec 2016

5. Restart computer

6. Install minecraft

7. DON'T INSTALL JAVA!!!

8. Keep minecraft launcher on even after minecraft starts

9 play multiplayer ! It worked, no "internal exception java.lang.nullpointerexception" message any more!

A clean install of Minecraft works too
