When I open the normal "Minecraft.exe" launcher which is in my games folder occasionally a 38'ish MB update will start to download.
After that update nothing. happens. at. all. It's like it crashed or something. If I go to my ".minecraft" and launch the "launcher.jar then the game will launch BUT, I can't use the new launcher. It's still the same old launcher.
I'm pretty sure there is no logs for this because it's not even starting and I'm checking each log/crashreport for the current date and there aren't any.
You tried setting 4G of ram without 64 bit java or not having enough. Set it to the default 1G
While we are at it, why you dont have the latest version of the old launcher(1.6.76) or the new one that is already at 100% rollout?
I do I have enough ram, and I do have 64 bit java(I'm pretty sure?).
Every time I've downloaded the launcher from the site (yes even after wiping out my pc a crap ton of times over a couple years) it has never worked. I've had to go and download that mirror/second launcher that I believe is mainly ran from java but I have no idea. I maybe played Minecraft less than a month ago and it worked and now it isn't working. I haven't downloaded anything other than Eclipse for my programming class in school and a few png's so I wouldn't think it would be a virus that is corrupting things (Though this dumb epicunitscan.info keeps getting blocked by malwarebytes and it's coming from chrome which I don't know how to get rid of) As well as when the administrator prompt sound goes off it's followed by a quieter weird sound and I can't explain it.
This is a bunch of random crap sorry if it's useless lol

Windows 10, 64bit, AMD, Java(latest)
EDIT: NEW PROBLEM
I lied, the old launcher.jar doesn't work either.
Instead it shows this error(attachments)
