If this is the wrong place to post this I do apologies, i'm new to these forums.
I'v recently started a world in 1.11.2 with mods, but a lot of mods that I want are not yet ready for 1.11.2. I'v already built a lot in this world and don't want to have to reset everything. Is it possible for me to downgrade from 1.11.2 to 1.10.2 and still keep my world intact. I realize any blocks that are after 1.10.2 will not be there, I don't think I used any. Is it as simple as starting a 1.10.2 profile and copy paste my world into it, and reinstall my current mods for 1.10.2?
See under "Entity and block entity IDs"; basically, this means that ALL entities will disappear because 1.10 has no idea what e.g. a skeleton is (as opposed to Skeleton). Same for block entities (e.g. mob spawners, which were changed from MobSpawner to mob_spawner). This is pretty much like the issue with items when going from 1.8 or later to an earlier version (in 1.8 stone is minecraft:stone instead of 1).
Why does Mojang do this? They do not support downgrading for any reason; in fact, as you can see here they don't even care if you are unable to play older versions, even if the launcher lets you.

yeah just do that. you'll lose any blocks added after 1.10.2, the rest will be fine
You can do a backup of the SAVES and MODS folder, just in case it doesn't work and you need to put 1.11.2 again.
Just copy those folders somewhere else or ZIP them.
Awesome, thanks so much.
Downgrading from 1.11 to 1.10 WILL corrupt your world:

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
