So, with this new launcher, it doesn't seem to let me change my game version. This is paticularly not nice, (well, the whole launcher is not nice) because I want to learn more about the new blocks and new stuff they give us every update. But, the launcher is stupid, so it doesn't seem to give me the option to change my game version!! Ugh!

Can somebody please tell me how to switch my game version? (All that pops up is, like, use latest version tab thingy)!

So yeah, please tell me how to switch my game version.

For one, the latest version is 1.11. Unless you happen to have access to Mojang's private servers, there's no way you're getting 1.12 yet.

However, if you want to change the version of your profile, it's rather easy:

1. Make sure the hamburger menu is open. Click the three lines at the top right of the launcher. If it's open, you will see four options: News, Skins, Settings, and Launch Options.
2. Go to the Launch Options tab.
3. The "Latest Release" and "Latest Snapshot" profiles cannot be changed, so if those are your only profiles, you're going to have to make a new one by clicking the "Add New" button at the top.
4. Once you have a custom profile, click it in the Launch Options list. One of the options should be "Version," which you can change to whatever you want.

Oh thank you. I was getting confused with all that talk about Pink Sand and 1.12 and stuff.

Good thing im using ATLauncher 9/10 times anyway so I dont have to deal with it.

You can downgrade back to the old launcher

Go to https://minecraft.net/en/download/alternative, and download the Second Minecraft.exe available on that page.

Also the new minecraft launcher is ridiculously laggy and you can't play mods from 1.11 just 1.11.2

Mods have to update to the new launcher, and why you say its laggy? Make your own thread with some info please

I was forced to get the new launcher. It said something like "updating launcher" and yeah.

Rollout is 100% now, if you are having a issue please create a new thread
