I'm having a problem with the minecraft launcher update! I went on to minecraft, and I was like, oh well, my skin reset, i have a steve skin, so i went to the skindex and found this skin i liked, and i uploaded it to minecraft, re-started my game, and i STILL had a steve skin! And when I tryed to get onto my realm,it said in big red letters Please Re-Start Your Game!! And when I tryed to get on to Hypixel (a minecraft server) it said some thing like connection refused: null (something something something)!
Is anyone else having minecraft problems like this? Can anyone suggest things for me to try?
Okay, I now figured out how to get skins, (apparently you have to downlode them) but when I clicked the little SAVE button, it said that it WAS UNABLE to download the skin to minecraft!
Is there any way to change it to actually change your skin? (I DO hate having a steve skin)!

That is weird, I don't seem to be able to log in. Huh? I already downloaded a skin from the skindex. Could you please tell me why I have to log into my mojang account?
Also, click log out of the launcher and log back in to fix the "Please restart your client" thing.
To change skins, you have to log in to Mojang, there are no minecraft.net accounts any more, just Mojang accounts(if you havent migrated yet, you can do so on account.mojang.com/migrate)

Becasue without logging in to your account, you would be able to change anyones skin, including mine. Logging in lets you upload the skin to your account. Skindex is a 3rd party website that is not run by Mojang. Think of it as an account setting, you need a premium minecraft account to do this.
And as stated, if you recently purchased Minecraft, you will use your email as the login. If you purchased Minecraft early on in development, please migrate your account for added security.

1) Login to https://minecraft.net/
2) From menu, select profile
3) Upload your png of the skin you want
