EDIT: I fixed this but now I have a new problem: every time I try to download a server resource pack, it crashes the game.

I know I mentioned this on an earlier thread, but this is really starting to annoy me. Whenever I try to download a new or old version of Minecraft, I get an error message that says the download was successful, but then it says "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." I've tried opening Minecraft as an administrator, but nothing works. Does anyone know how to fix this? If so, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Run the program, choose "I accept", then "Do a scan and save a log file". After a while a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on http://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.

To completely uninstall McAfee products, use this tool: http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp

Why would that matter?

Mcafee is known to cause issues joining LAN worlds, servers and skin servers

I'm not trying to do any of those, I'm simply trying to download an update, and with every single file it tries to download, I get a nice error message, saying the file's in use. uninstalling Mcafee did not help

You have to reboot your pc after uninstall mcafee

And that error is caused by a AV opening the file while the launcher tries to replace it

Uninstall ByteFence too
