The Minecraft Launcher is now ready to update to the new launcher which has a lot of new options and a visually pleasant interface.

the problem is that i've been trying 3 days to download it by trying to open the launcher, downloading in the minecraft webpage.

Whenever i try to download it it gets stuck at certain ammount of mb, at this moment it's at 12,51mb / 38,81mb. And then an error appears saying that it was "Unable to update the Minecraft Native launcher"

I was able to temporarily fix this by using the .jar launcher for linux (although i'm uing windows 8.1). But it opens the anterior luncher, i don't have a problem, my objetive is to play minecraft but i would really like to test the new launcher.

Can you try now? There were some issues yesterday from Asia users.

I'm still with the issue.

Now i can't even play moded via Curse as it has to download the new launcher.

Downloading the launcher from Minecraft.net not even works.

It always get stuck at 12,xx mb.

Can you post the hjt log?

Now i've tried unisntalling everything related to minecraft, including the .Minecraft folder and the game from the Control pannel.

i also tried to install the test/beta version of the new launcher and it gave an error code 5.

I ran my antivirus, cleaned with CCleaner and ran Malwarebytes.

I unisntalled java and installed the newest 64 bit version.

tried disabling the antivirus and both Private and public firewalls.

Still unable to update.

When i tried to install the beta of the new launcher, this is what nativelog.txt gave me.

Well, it seems like it's an error many are having.

I went to the Minecraft install directory in C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft

To find the actual Nativelog.txt

This is what it has:

"Se agotó el tiempo de espera para la operación" means "The wait time for the operation ran out"

Its timing out, can you run a speedtest in speedtest.net?

Everything seems to be usual.

10ms of ping, 43 mbps of download and 2 mbps of upload.

Although my Internet provider is very troublesome, the internet falls very often or it sometimes slows down. Of course i make sure in the 192.numbers page of my router to see if there are other devices connected but it's only my family.

I even tried connecting my cellphone's 4G connection to my computer via USB. It's way slower as i have only one line of connection but it didn't work either.

I turned off everything that was using internet to see if it could manage to install it.

Nothing yet.

I even tried in another computer.

i tried to run it and it gave me this.

But when i clicked "aceptar"

it went ahead and gave me the log file.

I have already tried that before.

Even with windows problem solver.

Nothing, i tried that in 3 different computers.

I also open it directly from the install directory.

This is driving me mad! I can still play Minecraft with the linux .jar launcher which launches the outdated launcher totally fine.

But it also tries to update it when i try to play a modpack from Curse and i can't do nothing.

Curse doesnt work with the new launcher yet, and this is the unmodified section so you shouldnt be asking about it here.

It's not curse only.

It's normal, vanilla Minecraft that i'm trying to open through the new launcher which is not downloading.

Report it on bugs.mojang.com(if it doesnt existS)
