I was playing just fine on my self-modded Minecraft (1.10.2) for about a week, then one day I started it up, and I noticed something different happened: When I clicked on the Minecraft icon, it downloaded something from the launcher (not entirely sure what). Now, whether I want to play 1.10.2 mods, or 1.7.10, whether on the regular Minecraft launcher, Technic pack, ATLauncher, etc., Modded Minecraft will absolutely not start up. It will display the launcher, but as soon as I click play, the launcher disappears for a few seconds and then reappears. No matter what. I have been messing with modded Minecraft for 5 years, and I have never seen this.
I did some research online (which I always heavily do), and the answer that kept coming up was that Java 8 is not good for forge, and even though it had not previously been a problem in the version of forge that I've been using, I switched anyway. Here are the steps I took:
Uninstalled Java 8
Downloaded and installed Java 7 update 80
Started with clean install of Minecraft, installed 1.7.10 forge
Started up game. Nice, clean startup with 1.7.10 forge installed.
As soon as I put mods on, here is the crash. It's the exact same crash every time, or something very similar.
Here is the crash log from that exact crash:
[13:24:23] [main/INFO] [LaunchWrapper]: Loading tweak class name cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker [13:24:23] [main/INFO] [LaunchWrapper]: Using primary tweak class name cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker [13:24:23] [main/INFO] [LaunchWrapper]: Calling tweak class cpw.mods.fml.common.launcher.FMLTweaker [13:24:23] [main/INFO] [FML]: Forge Mod Loader version 7.99.40.1614 for Minecraft 1.7.10 loading [13:24:23] [main/INFO] [FML]: Java is Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.8.0_25, running on Windows 10:amd64:10.0, installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft\runtime\jre-x64\1.8.0_25 [13:24:23] [main/INFO] [FML]: [AppEng] Core Init [13:24:23] [main/WARN] [FML]: The coremod invtweaks.forge.asm.FMLPlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft [13:24:23] [main/WARN] [FML]: The coremod net.malisis.core.asm.MalisisCorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft [13:24:23] [main/WARN] [FML]: The coremod mekanism.common.asm.LoadingHook does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft
Now, I'm aware that the version of java that it's using doesn't say Java 7. But it doesn't seem to matter what version I download, it seems to download and use its own version or something. Please help! I'd really like to be able to play my mods again. Also, thanks for the future help!
P.S. I have tried the same thing with 1.10.2, 1.7.10, Different versions of Forge and Java alike. I have no idea what the problem is.
