I recently decided to grab a handful of mods and play on 1.10.2; however, I was sitting at around 70% cpu usage and every other second or so it'd spike to 100% and freeze for a bit. I figured it was the mods or something and so I dropped down to vanilla but no, it's still there, albeit a bit lessened. Around 60% cpu usage and spikes upwards of 90%, sometimes 100% and freezing. I have no clue why it's doing this. My computer isn't amazing but I can play much higher demanding games just fine. Also to not, my render distance is set to the minimum as well. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Forge 1.10.2 is a memory hog. Allocate at least 4G for reliable gameplay.
1. Yes.
2. Just updated to make sure it wasn't java, so yes.
3. 4 gb
4. No clue how to check that; but I don't have anything else running while playing. Would that effect anything though? It's cpu usage not ram.
If you only have 4G system RAM, you may be out of luck on that PC. In my experience, Forge 1.10 requires 4G allocated. And yes, Java requires memory to run, hence MC requires memory to run.

It's not RAM usage, it's an unusually high amount of the CPU's processing power that's being gobbled up! Hell it even says in the fricking TITLE:
Extremely high CPU usage on 1.10.2
How do you get more ram being taken up out of the CPU topping out?

Curse Premium1. Do you have 64 bit OS?
2. Do you have 64 bit Java (see #1)?
3. How much system RAM do you have?
4. How much memory did you allocate to MC?

Moderatorsounds like the old issue of changing the Xmn value when adding ram to minecraft, this setting should be left alone at its default of -Xmn128m
