My laptop has a i7 core processor and 6 gigs of ram but i get 8 frames on minecraft 1.8-1.11

Try turning the settling to be less intensive. Lower the render distance, turn of graphics to fast, turn off particles. Try making sure you aren't running anything else in the background. Oh, also laptops typically have power modes. Ensure you're playing in a high performance mode.

Perhaps also try pressing F3+ A often. This reloads the chunks, and will cause chunks that are further away from you to become unloaded (since they will be out of your render distance).

Ensure your laptop is plugged in or in high performace mode, turn on VBo, mipmap 0, render distance around 8, graphics fast, particles off, update your drivers(post a dxdiag if you dont know how http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/pixel-format-not-accelerated/support/#dxdiag)

Unfortunately, your graphics card isnt supported on Windows 10 as Intel has not released drivers for your graphics card as its too old. You will need to either downgrade to Windows 7, get a new graphics card(If you have a desktop PC) or play in another PC

how would i go about downgrading to windows 7 with a disc

I dont recommend you do it yourself if you dont know how as you need to backup all your data to another location, because when you clean install windows 7, everything in your pc will be wiped

Yes. Copy everything you want to keep to a USB, and grab all the licenses for the software you have installed. If you decide to do it alone(instead of asking a friend or computer shop), we cannot help you with any data that you lost

so before i do this i just want to make sure that i understand all of this. If i revert to windows 7 i am able to have a better performance in minecraft and other programs/games

If you revert to Windows 7, you can install the correct driver for our gpu, that will give better performance
