I have recently tried to install Optifine 1.11.2 HD U B5 multiple times
for Minecraft 1.11.2. The installation says that it was successful, but
the version does not show up in my launcher profiles section, nor does the folder show up
in Windows Explorer. When I have checked on the Optifine Installer in
my .../.minecraft/versions folder, it shows the folder with the modded
.jar file in it. Why is this occurring? I have the installation folder
set to the correct folder, (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft)
but it just will not work. Any help I can get on resolving this irritating issue would be so
great, as I can barely play the game without using Optifine.
OS is Windows 7 64x, and I am using the latest Java version, 1.8.0.

Before you commented, the thread was written in a Greek letter looking font, it was not legible. I had reported the thread and replied the contents in the default font.
Are you able to copy the file path of the modded jar into your launcher profile?
Nope, will not let me do that. Will only let me select from a list of installed versions, and the modded Optifine jar doesn't show up on that list. Doesn't even appear in Windows Explorer when I look for it, but then when I've looked in the \versions folder while running the Optifine installer jar, it shows the modded folder with the .jar and .json file in it. I'm also pretty sure there hasn't been a launcher update, and I'm running 1.6.70.
I am absolutely positive there is someone on these forums that can help
me resolve this issue. In some desperate times with this, and need to
know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it. Please? If you
can, thank you.

Have you tried changing the install directory to something like your desktop, then copying over the .jar?

Problem solved: I ran the installer.jar through command prompt and it completely installed it, no problems. I request that this thread be closed.
