Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our servers. Please make sure that you are online and that minecraft is not blocked. (SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out)

This phrase haunts me from the day i have installed minecraft. i need a fix right away

(OS: WIN 8.1)

(Launcher 1.6.70)

i have tinkered with the firewall but i haven't really done much.

ive heard i had to mess around with the anti-virus but i would like somebody to elaborate on that.

Run the program, choose "I accept", then "Do a scan and save a log file". After a while a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on http://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.

Being honest, I have a list of auto messages and just copy it from there, use paste.ubuntu.com so thats what it shows here, plus that is what my bot reads

To edit your Host file, please do the following: Go to the Start Menu and locate notepad. Right click notepad and select Run as Administrator
Press File, then Open. Enter %SystemRoot%System32driversetchosts as the "File name" and press "Open" and delete all lines containing Mojang

my computer cant seem to find %SystemRoot%System32driversetchosts. i have been running notepad as an administrator.

EDIT: it the file that is was looking for was in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc not the weird thing that you sent up top. since then i have deleted all text in that file that contains mojang.

The usage of MCLeaks or AltDispenser tools (which are illegal) have been causing issues for many Minecraft users.
