I was at my computer when all of the sudden it completely shut off. This is a common problem for me because my computer's power cord is not the best. Anyway, the world I was currently working on disappeared. However; the file in "Saves" is still there. I looked it up and people claim that it is something to do with corruption in one of the files. Furthermore, they also said to post the problem on this forum to find out any solutions. If there is any way I could get the world back, that would be great!
I have already tried taking the world folder in/out if saves, making a copy, ect.
Looks to me your world may of been corrupted. Reason you saw the save file and nothing in game. Opening it in MCEdit must of repaired these files. Parts of the map may be missing used or unused, these will be regenerated.

Thanks!
Edit: I fixed it!
I launched the program MCedit and I found my world. I then went back onto minecraft and it was there.
