I think it might have to do with the CPU being unknown but I don't know what CPU being "unknown" means...
first of all, you need to know what gpu you are running. to do this, we will use dxdiag. hold your windows kay and press r to bring up a command prompt. type in dxdiag and hit enter. in the new window, switch to the display tab. there should be something called "card name". this is what you want. my guess would be something like "intel hd graphics 4400".
now that you know what you need go to your manufacturer's website (depends what machine you run). search for a button called "drivers" or "service" or "downloads". search for your model's name (the one we just got) and download the driver (for 64bit), then install it. boom, done.
Thanks for your help. I figured out my PC had 2 Display Adaptors - Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 & AMD Radeon HD 7570M/HD 7670M Graphics. One of them was disabled and another enabled. The one couldn't do all the work so I enabled both and boom, Minecraft's now working and some other things I had problems with are now working also.

Curse Premiumtry updating your graphic drivers. this is a graphic-related error, so very likely not caused by the cpu.
So how exactly do I do that???

or you just give me a dxdiag log (http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/pixel-format-not-accelerated/support/#dxdiag) and i'll find the driver for you. might take some time though.
