Hi: attempting to run Minecraft on a Dell Inspiron 560 running Win 10. Game is crashing at launch- org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated.
Updated to latest Java.
Intel driver update utility fails to install / update driver.
Hi: thnks for your response.... I'm attempting to launch minecraft 1.8.9.
I bought this pre owned Dell Inspiron 560 for my daughter so she could play minecraft... it has windows 10 & 8 gigs of ram so I figured we'd be fine. I actually work on a mac so my knowledge is extremely limited on pc.... any suggestions as to what graphics card might work on this dell? I appreciate your assistance & expertise. Standing by.....
the age of that computer doesn't make putting a new GPU into it really worth it honestly, a modern GPU would just cause a bottleneck at the CPU< plus you may need to put in a new PSU for it, and then there is question of if case can fit it, aswell as the motherboard.
return the computer to windows 7 or lower (the GPU in it is too old for windows 8 and up) and it should run minecraft, though not super well, and that can tide you over untill a better computer can be sorted
dang.... not the answer I wanted to hear... but I appreciate the prompt responses & suggestions. ok... I'll try & figure out how to return to windows 7. Thanks for all your help.

Curse PremiumWell, there's your problem:
Intel driver update utility fails to install / update driver.
You didn't state what version of MC your using, but your going to have trouble running newer versions of MC (1.8+) on that computer.
Options:
1. Use another, newer PC
2. Try adding a graphics card to your Dell
3. Play older versions of MC
