I recently got a new laptop as I broke my old one years ago. I download Minecraft and log in only to find Horrible Lag and around 0-10 fps even on the title screen it takes about 3 seconds to respond my mouse being over a box to click on. I have searched and searched I have tried a few methods nothing has worked. Here are some specs on my PC.
Windows 10 Home
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU N3710 @1.60Ghz 1.60Ghz
RAM: 4.00 Gb (3.86 Gb Usable)
System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64 based processor
Only a 1.6Ghz processor? Yuk. Minecraft is fairly processor heavy.
Have you tried getting the Win10 edition? It might run better for you...of course with the obvious downside that you couldn't play online with Java Minecraft players nor use mods.
I already tried Optifine it didn't even seem to help one bit although I did click download instead of mirror will try that. [Update] Optifine still did not work im guess I just wont be able to play Minecraft. This is a sad day!

If someone could help me that would be great!
Someone PLEASE help!!!
I have a similar problem, and I think it has to do with poor optimization in 1.11. Try downloading Optifine.

Wah.
A way to speed up Minecraft is to get OptiFine:
Go to optifine.net
Go to "Downloads"
Pick the version of MC you're using and chose the latest version there, but press "Mirror", not "Download"
Click the link in the middle of the page
A pop-up will show up with a few buttons to install OptiFine
Press "Install" (You must have launched the vanilla version of MC that you're using OptiFine on for it to install)
Go to your MC Launcher
It should have a profile that says "OptiFine"
After this, do the steps below, press play, and you should be good!
You could also add more RAM to Minecraft:
Open the launcher
Go to "Edit Profile"
At the bottom, check the box where it says "JVM Arguments", it will probably say "-Xmx1G", then a whole bunch of junk.
Highlight and delete everything after "-Xmx1G"
Replace "1G" with as much data as you want. (I use 4G)

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

Don't lose hope yet, I have a few things you can do.
First of all, go to the MC menu (if you can make it that far) and go to "Video Settings"
Change "Fancy Graphics" to "Fast"
Change your render distance to 6 or below
Configure your other settings to the fastest option (if you hover over a button, it'll show you the fancier and faster way of configuring it)
If you can't get to the menu, do the second thing I did in my first post:
Open the launcher
Go to "Edit Profile"
At the bottom, check the box where it says "JVM Arguments", it will probably say "-Xmx1G", then a whole bunch of junk.
Highlight and delete everything after "-Xmx1G"
Replace "1G" with as much data as you want. (I use 4G)
Again, I really hope this helps!
