Alright. I've been playing Minecraft for well over 1 1/2 years at the time I decided to call it quits and stop playing about a few months ago. Recently, I've been motivated to play again after watching several videos I used to habitually always watch. I installed Minecraft, updated Java (though I'm well aware that the new launcher is packed WITH Java), and everything was going well, except for the part which you have read in the title. I initially used version 1.11.2 when the problem occurred and thought that it was a just a bug so I downgraded down to 1.8.9, but to my annoyance, the problem still persisted.
I've tried MANY different fixes and opened MANY different websites but to no avail. My antivirus is default Windows Defender, which I habitually disable because of FPS issues (have an old, bad rig (same one I used when MC still worked months ago)) and my Firewall is also disabled. I presume it's something to do with Java or a bad install, but I've already reinstalled many times.

Also have to note that I can't connect to any servers, it would just display 'connecting to the server...' til' the end of time. Problem also occurs with OptiFine.
Stated in my post: "My antivirus is default Windows Defender, which I habitually disable because of FPS issues (have an old, bad rig (same one I used when MC still worked months ago))"
Run the program, choose "I accept", then "Do a scan and save a log file". After a while a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on http://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.
Also, did you used to have Mcafee installed?

Having similar issues to original poster, played earlier versions with no issues but recent updates always fail shortly after launch (new world or existing game). Have deleted and re-installed Java, deleted and reinstalled Minecraft, tried various 'fixes' posted around the net, and still nothing. Here is a link to my Hijack This report http://paste.ubuntu.com/23680269/. I run AVG anti-virus, and have never had issues with it in the past. Appreciate any help.

I'm sorry for bothering you again, but Minecraft crashed again it seems. From my limited knowledge of coding and developing, it looks like its that same crash as before.

I'll do that HJT thing later after I have lunch then post it here. And no, I've never had McAfee (or any external AntiVirus installed)

Appreciate that help tho

You might notice that I have OptiFine installed but I used it yesterday and it was working flawlessly so I think that's not the problem.
And here is the paste.ubuntu link in case you might ask (saves some work): http://paste.ubuntu.com/23686268/

Again, sorry for bothering you.
Dang, sorry. It was because of a program I installed last night. Uninstalled and all good now, sorry for hassle lol
