Recently whenever I've tried to play Minecraft, where I usually get a good 50-60 fps, the game lowers to 20-15 after about 30 seconds of playing. However if I change the video settings at all (even increasing them) the framerate goes back up to 50-60 fps again for another 30 seconds or so. It's very frustrating and I'm not sure what in the settings I can change. Using Optifine with smooth fps makes the difference in fps change but it's the same result.
Are there any settings I need to change that I've missed? Is it a hardware problem? Any help is appreciated.
