Not sure if this is the right place or not but here goes. My son is creating a world with World Painter. Now we would like to add in ores and blocks from various mods. He is aware of how to access extended block ids. The problem is just that though. For instance mod A gives a list of the block ids which it uses. So using that info we input that data into World Painter. However when we come to test the world we discover that it is not only using the wrong block but its the wrong mod as well. The problem however does not stop there. Minecraft reports the id for the block that is being used as a completely different id and the block we would have like to use is different again.
Hope this is making sense.
So we want 'Block A' with id 'a' - however minecraft is telling us that 'Block A' has an id of 'a2'
What we are getting for id 'a' is 'block B' with id 'b'.
To be more specific. Conquest Reforged mod gives slate an id of 300. So that is what we used in World Painter. However minecraft give the id for this block as #4576. The block that minecraft actually used was from base metals mod - Star Steel with a block id in minecraft of #4183. None of these numbers are any good anyway as World Painter only goes up to Block id number #4095.
I hope you can see I'm confused. So a mod says one thing - minecraft says something else and World Painter is telling us something completely different. How can we sort this out? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
And the answer to the obvious question about talking with the authors of World Painter is - yes we have asked there but got nothing useful back.
