Alright, so! I download minecraft for the first time on this computer, and have trouble with which launcher to use, how to update it, etc. I figured I was just a bit rusty because I haven't touched the game in say, two, three months?
After finally getting that to work, I select the version I want to play (1.8.9) and click download and play on the launcher. I get an error message, stating that something was wrong with my graphic card. Exact details of the error log here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/23632066/
So my computer's graphic card manufacturer is Intel, so I go to see if I can update, but I'm apparently with the latest version. I looked up quite a few things and saved all the information about my drivers from DxDiag, which can be found here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/23631979/
I've tried switching graphics to an older version, as well as restarting my computer, and reinstalling the game. I'm on Windows 8, btw! Am I missing something that should be obvious?
So this basically told me to uninstall my graphics driver-- I went with it anyways and decided to maybe reinstall the graphics driver. I tried opening it while it was uninstalled-- obviously didn't work. I then redownloaded the latest graphics driver and opened minecraft. The launcher worked (as it did all the other times) but still gave me the same error code.

ModeratorThe G41 chipset isn't windows 8 supported. Intel stopped at windows 7 http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/legacy-graphics/graphics-drivers-for-intel-g41-express-chipset.html
That means you will have to downgrade to Windows 7, get a new GPU(if its a desktop pc) or use another pc
