You could be pushing the boundaries of your processor. This modlist is potentially close to what an i3 can handle. I haven't seen the whole thing, but depending on how detailed of a base you have (and terrain for that matter).
I might actually try lowering your RAM usage to around 3 GB. The more space you allocate, the more the garbage filter has to clean up in Java. This can lead to larger lag spikes. I don't think you'd need more than 3, and while you would run the garbage more often, it would leave less garbage to collect and finish that process faster. It might help as well.
Also, what is your render distance? My i5 can't handle more than about 10 (I leave it at 8 and am just fine with that)

I pulled it to 3gb after deleting a ton of mods (123->72). It does load quicker - well, I guess it can't load slower - as well. The lag spikes seemed to have disappeared! Thanks guys.

I get random lag spikes every 5-10 seconds when playing. I hardly made any progress in an hour's worth of playing. Any help?
Also, what are you doing when lag spikes happen? How much do you have chunkloaded?
If you have logs, attach those as well.

I don't really do anything that much lag-worthy, so I don't think it's this.
I have 5gb allocated.

This is my log from yesterday. It says Can't keep up! a bunch of times, maybe that has something to do with it.
EDIT: Still happens.

I pulled it back to 3gb, which makes it load much slower, like, much slower, so slow I can't even get to the title screen.
It's been 25 mins and it hasn't got there yet. I think I should push it back to 4gb.
