Hi ppl, i ended up buying a new laptop, a ASUS GX700(couldnt wait for the GX800). But it still lagggggs as my "old" G751JY. I dont know what to do. I mean, i spend soo much money on a laptop to see minecraft run at 40FPS. I cant accept that. What should i do? Also, i have 200 Mods, but when i look at the new laptop's specs, they should be good for like 5 thousand of da frames!

Is that with Vsync off in the video options? 200 Mods, have you allocated more RAM? Also make sure Minecraft is running on your GTX980 by opening debug mode (F3) and looking on the right side at what GPU is listed there. Also make sure it's running on 64bit Java.
Try allocating less RAM and see if it plays a bit smoother. It's not good to allocate way more RAM than you really need. Try allocating 6GB and then check the debug screen to see how much RAM is being used as you play. If it's getting maxed out you need it, but if it's only half utilized you might think about going down to maybe 4GB. The smaller amount of storage space is much easier to maintain and you won't experience lag spikes when a huge garbage dump happens.
Are you experiencing lag while playing single player or only online? If the latter, then it's not your PC, it's the server or your internet connection (or possibly your network configuration/security).
Vsync is on, i allocated 12GB, the GTX980 is used, and i use 64Bit Java and removed all other versions.
-Turn off Vsync & Turn on VBOs
-Don't allocate RAM
-Use OptiFine (skip if already done it.)
-Download both 32-bit & 64-bit of Java
-Make sure you updated EVERYTHING on your laptop (Graphics Card, your Operating System, etc.).
-If you have 2 Graphics Card installed, Right-click on the MCLauncer--->Run with a graphics processor-->choose your NVIDIA or AMD card
-I'd recommend you to install a cleaner, just to make sure that there are no junk files that'll slow down your laptop. I'd prefer Clean Master for you.

1. Done both
2. It crashes when i dont
3. I use it
4. Done, still lag
5. I did. Even BIOS/UEFI
6. I have 1 GPU, the GTX980, and it is used.
7. I cleaned it using CCleaner, Clean Master and ran a MBAM scan
Try removing half your mods, see what frames you get. If it's still the same, the problem mod(s) are in the list currently loaded. If not, they're in the other list. Rinse and repeat until you find the mod(s) lagging you. It's possible you have mods in both lists causing issues, so do this process for both lists regardless.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..

Hi there, there's a couple things you could try
1. Play single player
If you are lagging online then it's your internet like @germrage said
2. Try using fastcraft and optifine
3. Make sure unde video settings your max fps is unlimited
4. You might of just got a bad PC lol
hope this helped a little bit
1. I do
1.5: My internet is very fast.
2. I do
3. If it is on unlimited, it stutters and tears because Vsync/Gsync is off.
4. Hmm.....

This should be in the modded support section.
You running any shader/resource packs?
What's your mod list? (spoilers please)
In game settings?
