Have tried deleting and re downloading the version dozens of times, no change.
Many friends I've talked to get the exact same results.
Can anyone get a 1.5.2 or lower version of minecraft to run without crashing?

Alright well, it WAS working for a few days... Now it's having issues again.
So the game decided to go back to using a version of Java 8 even though I didn't have it installed. Turns out minecraft just downloads one for you and starts using their own. Why it decided to do this only after four days I don't know...
Alright, so I changed my profile settings to go back and use the Java 7 I was running minecraft on previously, and it still crashes:

I'm going out on a limb here and assuming minecraft is just designed to HATE running any version of Java except the one it's been predestined to use? Is there anything I can do to make it work, and keep it working?
Edit: So apparently deleting the .minecraft folder in appdata makes it work again, possibly for just another four days... It's not the most elegant solution but I could do that until a more long term answer comes up.
The puzzling thing though is why this even works? What is minecraft doing that let's it run 1.5.2 and lower just fine, but only after deleting the .minecraft folder? And only for roughly four days?
New Info Edit:
So it's not a time limit, it goes back to crashing when I switch to and play a later version profile like 1.11. It seems minecraft will use your installed java until you play a later version, then it will only use the java 8 that it comes with. Is there anyway around this...?
Unmodded, untouched vanilla.
Have tried deleting and re downloading the version dozens of times, no change.

Curse PremiumI think the problem is running that version of MC with Java 8.
"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
After a bit of effort reverting back to Java 7, and getting minecraft to acknowledge it...
It actually works now! Thank you for the advice!
