I'm not entirely sure of what all the relevant information is that I need to put in for someone to understand my problem, but I have a deskrop Mac computer with OS X Yosemite (10.10.5, if that helps at all), and I believe I'm up to date with Minecraft.
I used to be able to use a quick shortcut (Command+Tab) to switch between Safari or iTunes and Minecraft when it was in full screen mode. Just today though, I was messing around with some of the controls and key bindings (I've since reset them to see if that helped) to try and make taking a screenshot a bit more user-friendly. After that, I couldn't use my shortcut within Minecraft any longer, and was also suddenly unable to change screen brightness in game, and the regular toolbar display that would appear with the time and the minimize/close buttons has also stopped appearing. This makes it so that I have to completely exit out of Minecraft in order to do anything in other applications.
Additionally, when I open Minecraft, it automatically pops into fullscreen mode, which is irritating. I've had a friend try to help me, and I've found that I can use a different shortcut to minimize the window with option+f11, but that only solves a part of the problem, and I want my usual methods back.
I suppose I should mention that I've done nothing different with my computer other than change controls within Minecraft, so it's not just a computer issue, and everything works fine in other applications when I have Minecraft minimized or closed. Please don't ask me if I've turned it off and then on again, because I have.
