what instructions for what launcher did you use? normally, putting it into the mods folder should be all. if you use the mojang launcher, you can also install it on top of forge, just run the optifine.jar file.

I installed the latest Optifine mod (ver. 1.11) just yesterday (24/11/16) and went to check the game to see if everything was alright.
Instead, I was met with these small screens and a lot of lag.
I also installed a shader pack (SEUS 10.1 Ultra) beforehand and it worked fine before the Optifine mod.
I don't know what happened, since I put the mod in the correct folders and followed the instructions, but I can't get the game back to normal.
Any help is appreciated.
