Also sometimes get this crash. It happened this time when setting Mipmap to OFF and allocating more memory to MC. Seems to be mostly the same except for the problematic frame being "ntdll."
Worked fine for years, until one time I started getting crashes with a certain FTB modpack which lead me to take a break from the game. After playing again a few weeks later, this crash began to happen in all versions of the game. Please note that not a single trace of the mod exists on my hard drive anymore. My installation is 100% vanilla. The mod may have caused it somehow, or something happened to my drivers in the time I took a break, I don't know.
The issue itself is that the game crashes on launch when fullscreen is enabled. It can run and get into a world when windowed, but it stutters horribly and there are blue lines between all the blocks. This issue seems to be kind of common through the years, but I've only rarely seen it been solved. I've tried just about every fix I've found online. Here's a mostly full list of everything I've tried:
First off, here's my crash and DxDiag logs. I've got 64 bit Java 1.80 too. I can give any other logs if needed, just tell me how to access them.
Minecraft crash log
DxDiag log

Updating Java
Reinstalling Java
Installing different versions of Java
Updating Adobe Flash Player
Disabling hardware acceleration in Google Chrome
Entirely closing Google Chrome before launch
Clean reinstalling Minecraft (launcher files, .minecraft, etc.)
Updating Drivers (All of my drivers are now updated. every single one)
Rolling back to previous video driver versions (Didn't do anything no matter how far back I went)
Entirely uninstalled my video drivers and then installed them again
Changing video settings (Mipmap, VBOs on/off, many others)
Windows SFC repair (Nothing was corrupted)
I've assured through F3 that the game is using my GTX 980 and not my integrated Intel graphics
More fixes around the net that I can't remember right now.
I'm desperate for help. If you guys need any more info or have fixes to try please post below. TY
Your crashes are both pretty much in the same place, configuring gamma while setting up full screen mode.
But one stack has more info, including the fact that the crash happens after
C [D3DGear64.dll+0x72746]First try taking MC out of fullscreen mode.
If that doesn't help then try uninstalling D3DGear (known to cause problems for some).
This worked. Thank you so much dude, you're a godsend.
