I am relatively new to minecraft..Playing for only about a year. A minecraft mom, my 10 year old daughter plays.. She wanted mods but for the longest time I ws too afraid to install because of viruses. But I found a great tutorial CodaKid on youtube. So, yay! I had finally figured out mods, installed forge for 1.8 because she wanted the furniture mod and it seemed to only be 1.8 or so I thought. I still don't fully understand it. Well, then she wanted Pams Harvest Craft which is not available for 1.8, so I wanted to change Forge to work with 1.7.10 mods so she could use the harvest mod, but I guess I screwed up because it added a new forge profile with a capital F. Forge along with the previous one, "forge".. well it didn't work, when I opened minecraft it shows only a huge list of codes instead of playing. So again I tried to fix it by reinstalling and it added another profile called Copy of Forge. Oy. I'm so confused.
The only profile that works is the one with my daughter's username. Any forge profiles just show a scrolling list of commands and codes or whatever it is. All I want is to start completely over and get forge back for 1.8 like originally, because that was perfect, I had so many mods loaded and working. I'm so stupid to have messed with it. She just really wanted the harvest mod. Can anyone help me or am I doomed?
Thank you,
At the bottom left corner of the Mojang Launcher is the Profile corner. It has a drop down menu to switch Profiles and 2 buttons: New Profile and Edit Profile.
At the top left of the Launcher is 3 Tabs. One says Profile Editor.
Click Profile Editor. It will open a new window showing all the profiles created. Use this to easily delete any Profiles you don't want/need.
Now, install the version of Forge you want to use. It should create a Profile called "forge." Click Edit Profile button. This will open a new window showing the profile information. You can rename the Profile in the Profile Name line. You can also check the Forge version in the Use Version line. Once your done, click the Save Profile button.
You can set up multiple Profiles with the Mojang Launcher this way to play different versions of MC. Also create different Game Directory folders for each version too.
