forge installer extracting automatically on mac not opening when i click on it

when ever i try to open forge installer optifine or any jar file it just extracts it i do have java installed i am on a mac

i really can't figure out what the problem is i looked everywhere on the internet it seems like no one els has this problem

i hope some one can help me thanks in advanced

o yeah it also says its a zip file not a jar file on the picture of it
