Launcher stops at "Unpacking Launcher" and says, "Unable to start Minecraft Runtime Environment." This is most likely caused by a corruption. Please reinstall Minecraft."
I have uninstalled Minecraft and reinstalled it five times. I have no idea what is wrong.
That error usually means a setting or another program on your computer is preventing the installer from downloading the files you need.
Have you tried installing with your firewall temporarily turned off? If that doesnt help, what antivirus software is installed (even if its not active) on that computer currently?
McAfee is actually known to cause issues (this one and others) with Minecraft. I believe if you disable McAfee's firewall you can stop the issue. However this doesnt always work and you will often need to remove McAfee, if you find yourself needing to do that, use this tool they provide in order to properly remove it all, http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp

Sorry for the slow response. I noticed when the launcher crashed it would create a native log text file on my desktop. I tried allowing it to bypass my firewall and it still had issues. Dreading uninstalling the antivirus but may have to.

I didn't try that actually. I have McAfee installed.
