I used to play this game forever ago, back in beta. I wanted to try it again because they have added many new additions to this game. So I moved my account to their new accounts, and I know it's there because when I log in, and go to buy the game, it says I already have a copy.
So when I first tried re-downloading minecraft, the game would open. I loaded up a new single player world, and as soon as I saw the game screen the game would crash with a pop up saying "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." So I uninstalled minecraft, uninstalled Java, and then re-downloaded both. I did this back and forth situation a couple times with no success. I've read many websites providing tips on what to do and I am at a loss.
Now the game won't even download. I have the latest version of Java installed, and when I try to download minecraft THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE it says "Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Environemnt. This is most likely caused by a corruption. Please try to reinstall minecraft." This has now happened several times and I am so clueless.
Another thing that happens a lot is the log in menu will open, and I'll hit "play." Then it'll say it's downloading something, and then the play button will appear again. I'll hit that button, and it'll just saying downloading again and again.
Please help. I have an Acer Aspire V Nitro laptop and It's only a year or so old. I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do.
I've also tried going into advanced Java settings and checking both boxes, as one website suggested. That didn't work.
And I read the Minecraft help page and it recommended turning off my anti-virus software because it may be blocking some of the content being downloaded. So I downloaded the game with my firewall and real-time scanning off and that didn't work either.

When I actually get the game to run it crashes and in the "Game Output" it says "Can't keep up! Did the system change, or is the server overloaded? Running 8426ms behind, skipping 168 tick(s)" (and those numbers keep getting higher everytime I try to download the game)
