I had Java SE platform errors to start with and in trying to solve that problem my allocated amount of ram will not register in game. I have tried to do what all of the trouble shooting links suggest and either I am doing it wrong or its something else. When i play vanilla minecraft it will let me run but will soon cap out and run out of its 244 MB of allocated memory. Now even modded minecraft will not launch without saying there isnt enough memory or have a Java SE platform error.
Please let me know if there is something i can do, Thank you.
Yeah, this is probably it. 64-bit Java is highly recommended (if you have a 64-bit CPU, of course) because of its higher performance and lack of limitations when compared to the 32-bit version.
The screen shot clearly shows that 64bit is selected.
Problem is probably _JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable, the question is does it come from the environment alone, or is it being injected into the environment by a program like Razer Synapse.
As far as I know the only way to fix the issue is to uninstall Razer Synapse.
It modifies the environment for all Java programs and caps the max memory. Unless there's an updated version of Synapse that fixes their sledge hammer approach.
You might try terminating Synapse and see if it only causes trouble while it is running.
Ok so i had a synapse update and it did not change the ram amount. I uninstalled it and yet still there is no change in the amount of memory going to minecraft. Thought maybe it was the java version some how and reinstalled it and still nothing. 4 days ago i think my windows 10 had an update and then after that i could not play and it didnt seem to change anything but it must have. could it be somehting there?

Hey gerbil
It was a environment variable! me and my wife spent hours in heated debate with this pc but finally she figured out what she had to set in the Java_Options to change the allocated memory to Minecraft. Thank you again and happy gaming!

I do have razer synapse. it has never been an issue before but if that is a problem how would i go about trying to solve it?
