Hi, im having a very weird problem, i reinstalled windows a few months ago and haven't downloaded minecraft ever since. At that time, i got 200+fps on mc. Recently, i upgraded from a gtx 660 Ti to a GTX 1070. This card let me play aaa games at 1440p at >60fps very high settings. BUT minecraft was completely unplayable, i get 1-2 fps and sometimes it doesnt even move at all. it even lags in the menu. i tried reinstalling and deleting the .minecraft folder but it didnt work. my graphic card drivers are up to date. I tried setting global settings in nvidia control panel to "prefer max performance" as well. GPU is running at 1900+Mhz when minecraft is running. Allocated 8gb ram as well but it was no use.

I have a GTX 1070 as well. But Minecraft seems to run well on it and with shaders on as well. Even though I have a problem that for some reason the fps was gradually decreasing. But yeah, I don't have any major problems with it. Hope this helps clarify a few things...
