So i've been playing in a modded minecraft server of FTB infinity evolved with some friends for a couple of weeks, and everything has worked fine for me, no lag spikes, no issues with fps whatsoever. But randomly yesterday i started to get humongous lag when trying to play on server.
What happens and how it happened:
First all started when i tried to log in, it would get stuck there for a while not wanting to connect.
It says in launcher before trying to connect that the ping or ms is 120-130 (good ping for me) and full bars, but when i can connect, its just a unplayable lag, and it ends up kicking me out.
I enter and suddenly the 5 bars dissapear and i start getting 3 or 2, and this is random, because if i start refreshing the server page in my mc client, it always shows 5bars.
Chunks dont load so well or dont load at all. sometimes i get into the void and thats it.
I can play another game with 77ms and works just fine like always, so it has to be minecraft.
What i have tried:
Re-installing minecraft, i've tried this 2 times, from the ftb legacy launcher and from curse.
Telling the server owner to erase my player data in the server files to see if it was some problem with that.
turning off the firewall.
i have updated java to its last version.
set up high priority to its process.
dedicate more ram. (up to 4-3.5) i have 8gb.
Im have no clue why this is happening and how to fix it.
It may not completely be your internet. Big modspacks like FTB have tons of sending and receiving packets delvering all kinds of player and mods based data, as well as just normal minecraft data. So the likeliness of getting high latency is, well, high! This could mean that either the server cannot handle the stream or your internet just MAY not be quite up to speed to keep up with the immense amount of data I listed above
