I've been having an issue where the Minecraft display freezes while I'm in the game. Even though the display freezes, I can still play the game, I just won't know what is going on. For instance, I can pause, open my inventory, and send things in chat even though all I see is a frozen Minecraft window. I'm running 1.10 on a Windows 10 hard drive that did NOT come with the computer I'm using. The only fix I have so far is to restart my computer which takes way too long considering I would have to do that more than daily. Is there a way to either reload the screen so I don't have to restart Minecraft every time it freezes, or something I can do to prevent the freezing in the first place?
Does it happen while you are doing a certain task in game or does it just randomly freeze While walking/craft/fighting? What video card if any are you running? Did you download the windows 10 anniversary update?
From what you have said, As a quick fix you should be able to force quit minecraft when it happens then just restart it. For long term, have you checked the logs. It might say what isn't working right.

Randomly, usually I don't have any menus open when it freezes. And no, the Windows 10 came with a hard drive I bought 4-5 months ago.
