I had MC installed on my old laptop, running Win7. Got a new laptop, has Win10 on it.

I migrated all my files onto the new computer. MC will not start... gives me the message when I try to launch it:

"Unable to start the Minecraft Runtime Environment. This is most likely caused by a corruption. Please try to reinstall Minecraft."

I uninstalled / reinstalled. Still no luck.

I would like to pick up where I left off... I'm thinking, I may have to run this new Win10 version of MC. Can I load up my old saved games? Or are they now non-compatible?

That was part of the problem with my old laptop... my mousepad would stop working / got old and would not stay "fixed." Had to use a mouse to play MC when the PC acted up.

I thought having this new one would let me start playing again like I used to.

Pretty sure I have the latest Java installed. Thanks but that's probably not the problem.

Could it be: my new laptop is a Lenovo Yoga 900S which converts to tablet functionality? Does MC think it's running on a mobile device (which tablets technically are)?

OK - I need noob help as far as that goes, configure the executable field in Profile Editor to use system Java

I'm not sure how to access profile editor.

Is it online? Do I run the game from my old PC and access it that way?

I'm looking through the file tree in explorer. I did not know the game used its own Java... which I see in C:\Users\Jim Whelan\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\java

Install both 32 and 64 bit version of Java from here

Ignore everything said above, this is usually caused by an antivirus blocking Minecfraft like Mcafee or Norton, What antivirus you have?

McAfee came with the new laptop

Hadn't thought of that... hope this is an easy work around

I'm not able to screw around with it until later at night (on night shift rotation... this is my day off)
