I am taking a class called "Modding for minecraft" using http://www.learntomod.com/ the only problem is when we start up our minecraft clients we can only play single player. and that is if its on our computer that we got from home, we cannot even launch minecraft in online mode. I am thinking we could set up a proxy server for my class to use during class for minecraft. Anyone know how I might go about bypassing or hacking the school firewall to let my class function as it should?. please do not post saying how I should not be doing this, the IT guy thinks we should forget about it for 6 weeks till he can get around to doing it which is basically the rest of the semester. he port forwarded the schools router on minecrafts default port (not DCP just TCP) thinking that would fix it basically letting me host a server on the schools network but not be able to play online. At any rate he is really stupid and I am authorized to bypass/hack it. so I need to be able to do the following
Start minecraft in online mode, teacher accounts can do this, not students so this is not vital but would save my teacher logging on all computers with her account.
Access Minecraft Servers by multiplayer, this is vital, if you know how to via proxy please tell me how or point to a guide that tells how to do this.
Would not advise hacking the network as you can be charged criminally for it. School networks to my knowledge are supposed to be secure.
All your system have a firewall. You have user level accounts, which are striped of the needed permissions. They setup for the computer to block any connection it doesn't trust. You don't have the permissions to allow those connections through the firewall. Only admin accounts can allow this, basically your teachers accounts. So if you all logged into the teachers account you'd theoretically be able to connect to that server.
